Google Assistant Comes To The iPad
Google Assistant is rolling out today on iPad, enabling users to control features on their devices like calls, texts, reminders and smart home among others. The assistant was launched on iOS at Google I/O 2017, just after its launch on the Android powered Google Pixel phone.
When you ask the Google Assistant to make a call, it will pull that data from your iOS Address Book, after you approve it to do as such. It likewise can enable you to write emails, answer your questions based on Google Search and set reminders for you.
The experience though if you already use it on an iPhone shouldn’t be all that different from the new iPad with the exception of the big screen and multitasking which is exclusive to iPads.
Now that Google extended the competition to another iOS powered device, it will still find it difficult to beat Apple on its turf. Siri can be accesses by the push of a button while rival applications will only be launched by opening the app.
When Google Assistant first launched on iOS, it came in only English but now it supports more languages like French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese.
