Spotify Launches Its Apple Watch App

Smartwatches have been growing in popularity, albeit slowly, for the last couple of years, and so companies are starting to feel the need to cater to users of these mobile devices. Today, Spotify is joining the list of Apple Watch apps by giving users the ability to listen to their favourite music and control playback without reaching for their phone. The music streaming service, which started testing its Apple Watch app earlier this month, has pushed out a first version that offers the ability to play music on the Apple Watch and control how music is played to Spotify Connect-compatible devices. Spotify has also included complications. The new app doesn"t, however, allow you to sync songs for offline playback, and you can’t directly stream songs to the Apple Watch from your phone or LTE on the watch. Alongside the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung also announced a new smartwatch: the Galaxy Watch. The Galaxy Watch isn"t Samsung"s first wearable, but it"s the first with the Galaxy brand name - in the past, Samsung"s smartwatches have been under the "Gear" branding. "Galaxy is a huge brand and very well known brand, meant to represent the best of the best products," Alanna Cotton, senior vice president and general manager at Samsung Electronics America, explains. "This next level version is about bringing the best solutions to this device." Google Is Making An AR Headset With New Qualcomm Chips

After the spectacular rise and fall (and rebirth) of Glass, Google is taking another run at augmented reality smart glasses. Google is reportedly working on a standalone Augmented Reality headset that will use new Qualcomm chips. The company has outsourced this headset to  Taiwanese computer maker Quanta. According to documents obtained by WinFuture , the project is still in its early stages. The German tech site reports that the headset is in the early stages of development with Taiwanese computer maker Quanta. The headset, which is said to be code named the ‘Google A65,’ is supposedly similar to Microsoft’s HoloLens. HoloLens headset came out in 2016 and was aimed at training, design and industrial use. Snapchat Unveils Updated Spectacles With Improved Audio, New Colours & Faster Data Transfer

Spectacles version 2.0 is here Snap Inc, the parent company of Snapchat, unveiled a new version of its  smart sunglasses , which records bursts of videos. It is a slightly smaller, water-resistant pair of sunglasses. The company released the first version in 2016 in stand-alone vending machines called Snapbots. Over 220,000 were sold, though many of them didn"t make it off the shelf. The new Spectacles look incredibly similar to Snap’s original glasses- Snap chat version 1.0- and are sold through vending machines at launch. You can’t buy the new pair at a vending machine stand— only at Snapchat’s own website, Spectacles.com — but they offer a few new features that the original pair never had.
