Opera Becomes First Major Desktop Browser To Integrate In-built Cryptocurrency Wallet

Opera web browser is now the first of the major browsers to include a cryptocurrency wallet and by doing this, they have removed the need for third party extensions thereby increasing the security of such transactions for users.  This desktop wallet supports major cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and synchronises with the mobile version (Opera for Android) which was announced back in June. In a statement by Opera’s EVP of Browsers, Krystian Kolondra he said “after making crypto payments smooth and easy on mobile, we wanted the find the perfect solution for PCs. We realised the best way is to utilise our new mobile crypto wallet technology and to give our PC users access to it.” The security in the Opera approach is that instead of having to enter some kind of password, you just approve transactions using the biometric provisions like the fingerprint scanner to do it. Opera News Reaches 10 million Users In Africa, Thanks To World Cup Features

Since its launch in January 2018, the news app —Opera News has experienced a spike in downloads and reached 10 million downloads in Africa in just six months —after its recent update included a FIFA football World Cup channel and other football-related features. According to results from App Annie , Opera News is the most downloaded news app in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania. The growth in the download of the app, is prior to the latest update to app’s introduction of new World Cup features —which keep football fans up to date with the results of the largest football competition in the world. They can now follow live scores as well as tables and fixtures of the group stage and the knockout stage.
