Google-owned YouTube is expanding the concept of non-skippable advertisements on its platform for the creators to monetise their content and earn more revenue—This basically means you will not be seeing the "skip ad" button more often. An interesting update is rolling out to all YouTube player on the desktop. Like mobile devices, the YouTube desktop player now supports the exact ratios of the videos you are watching. Previously, YouTube used to show black bars around videos that aren’t in the standard 16:9 aspect ratio. This included vertical videos, 4:3 videos, and videos with other respect ratios. The mode was actually released first for the iOS app even though many would have expected it to arrive for the Android version first. Last night, users on Reddit started reporting that the dark theme was being automatically applied to their mobile apps. Those who saw the change were also served with a pop-up informing them about the switch and the option to revert to the light theme. More than half a billion videos on YouTube will, from today, carry credits covering songwriter, label and publisher data – and it just keeps getting better.  The Google platform has just announced that it is adding ‘credits and music discovery information’ to both premium music videos and – for the first time ever – to fan-uploaded content that features recorded music. The woman responsible for the shooting that happened at YouTube headquarters in San Bruno yesterday was confirmed dead. Before her death, she shot three persons who sustained injuries before she eventually took her own life, according to the authorities. "We did locate a victim with what we believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It"s a female, but the investigation is still ongoing before we can out the pieces together", the San Bruno Police Chief, Ed Barberini said. The authorities in charge of the investigations are yet to come with shreds of evidence to prove that the shooter specifically targeted the victims or whether it was merely coincidental.
