You Can Now Add Music GIFs To Your Snaps And Stories In Snapchat

Previously, only muted-GIFs were available to be forwarded but now Snapchat has introduced  a new feature—which allows users to send music GIFs to their followers, or upload them as stories, on the social network, thanks to TuneMoji.

Since launching in 2014, TuneMoji has been steadily growing, with around 20 million users already. The app allows people to create and share the GIFs, which all feature licensed music, to enhance their chat—The music GIF network is integrating into Snap from today, allowing the app’s millions of users to add TuneMojis in chats and stories, as first spotted by Business Insider.

“Adding music to GIFs is the next logical step in the evolution of visual communication," said TuneMoji’s founder and CEO, James Fabricant.

“We initially started by creating TuneMojis ourselves, and quickly realized how much more effective it would be to empower a generation with the tools to produce their own music GIFs. That infinite creativity is what now fuels the TuneMoji network,” he added.

TuneMoji, which counts Will.i.am and Sean Parker of Napster and Facebook fame amongst its investors, is already available on eight other messaging platforms, including Viber and Skype. The integration with Snap has been made possible through the platform’s Snap Kit, which allows developers to integrate new features into the app.

Snapchat has always been reluctant in collaborating with third-party developers to bring new updates to the platform. However, the platform broke the record, when it signed up a contract with Snap Kit. Due to this partnership, Snapchat will become compatible with TuneMoji, which is an application for GIFs only.

Like other popular similar platforms, TuneMoji also allows its users to search for, and then select required animations. However, there is one drawback. People cannot use these musical GIFs from within the messaging social media they are using; they will have to use TuneMoji for that. Moreover, users must have installed both Snapchat and TuneMoji on their smartphones to be able to enjoy this feature.

However there"s one tiny drawback—you can"t open up Snapchat and then send musical GIFs from inside the app but not to worry as the GIF firm said it"s working on a closer integrations with messaging partners, which also include Instagram and WhatsApp, which can allow its users send from within their respective messaging platforms.
