Adobe Launches Premiere Rush CC, A Video-Editing App Made For YouTubers

If you work with video at all, you probably know all about Adobe Premiere Pro. Along with Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro is one of the biggest and best video editing tools available—Today, Adobe is launching a new version of Premiere Pro called Adobe Premiere Rush, which is focused on YouTubers and other web content creators.

Premiere Rush is Adobe’s first all-in-one, cross-device online video editing app. Designed with social media users in mind, Rush syncs to the cloud and works seamlessly between devices.

Rush uses the power of Adobe’s tools from programs like Premiere Pro and Audition so you can capture video, colour-correct, edit, record and clean up audio, customise animated titles, and publish to social media.

Uploading video to a multitude of platforms in different sizes and orientations can be time consuming for creators. Adobe added in their press release:

“We’ve heard how time-consuming it is to create versions of your videos that meet the requirements of the different social media platforms that you publish to, which is why we made sure that this functionality was included in the initial release of Premiere Rush. We’re continuing to work on ways to make this easier.” (Adobe Blog)

However, even if you don’t ever use Premiere Pro, the Rush variant will do pretty much everything you need. You can edit video, add transitions, add graphics and effects, add music, etc. At the end, you can directly export your finished product to various social media platforms, including YouTube (naturally).

There are a few ways you can access Premiere Rush, both free and paid. If you currently are a subscriber to Creative Cloud for all programs, you can download Premiere Rush here and fully use it starting today.

If you aren’t a subscriber yet, Adobe has a few options for you:
  • Subscribe for $9.99 a month as an individual.

  • Purchase Premiere Pro CC as a single app, Rush now comes with it.

  • Download a free Starter plan which gets you the Premiere Rush software along with three exports per month. If you need to create more than three videos every 30 days, you’ll have to cough up for one of the paid plans.

Premiere Rush is available on Adobe.com and from the iOS store right now, with plans for an Android App in 2019.
