Apple"s New iPhones Will Reportedly Release In Blue, Orange, Gold And More Colours

Apple is reportedly launching newer, larger iPhones in September, and what’s more is that they could possibly arrive in an assortment of colours.

According to Newsweek, Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the rumoured 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will launch in black, white and a new gold colour, while the rumoured 6.1-inch LED iPhone will debut in grey, white, blue, red and orange. The grey and white colour options for the LCD iPhone are likely referring to space grey and silver. Ming-Chi Kuo is also expecting this entry-level model to start at $700. It will likely have Face ID but only have a single lens camera on the back.

Kuo states the larger iPhone will come in black, white and a gold colour — and the smaller of the two releasing in grey, white, blue, red and orange. Red is not an unusual move for Apple — the company recently released a red colour for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in April 2018, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in 2017, and an iPod Nano in red in 2016 — all for the charity RED.

However, orange and blue are not the norm for Apple, which has tended to favour muted tones for its devices for many years, including desktops and laptops. Pops of colour are usually relegated those that appear on its screens, although Apple"s famous clamshell iBook did feature lollipop colours of tangerine, blueberry, indigo, indigo and key lime, and the iPhone 5C came out in blue when released in 2013.

Other than the tech company’s product red collaborations, (Read more: Apple Launches A Red iPhone 7 Globally To Combat The Scourge Of HIV/AIDSits iPhone 5C range debuted in 2013, which came in pink, white, green, blue and yellow, Apple rarely reveals four or more colours when introducing a new phone. Currently, the brand offers a line-up of branded phone cases for consumers who like to switch up the colour on the back of their phones. Fashion and lifestyle brands like Opening Ceremony, Off-White™ and BAPE have also launched their own stylish iterations of the iPhone accessory.

As a reminder, prices for the two OLED models would sit between $800 and $900 for the 5.8-inch display $900 and $1000 for the larger screen. All of the devices will feature a near-bezel-less design, but the LCD model could skip out on the dual-camera setup on the back, similar to what"s happened with the past two generations of iPhones.
